Isolation and identification of marine bacteria from marine mud in Vietnam with antimicro- bial activity

چکیده
Seventeen bacterial strains were isolated from 9 marine mud samples from the inshore environments of the East Sea. Four bacterial strains showed an inhibition against all tested microorganisms Staphylococcus aureus ATCC10832, Escherichia coli JM109, and Fusarium oxysporum. 16S rRNA sequences of four bacterial strains were obtained by PCR using specific primers. PCR products were cloned into E. coli DH5α using pJET1.2 blunt vector. The recombinant plasmids were sequenced and the lengths of these 16S rRNA sequences were ∼930bp. The 16S rRNA sequence from the four bacterial DB1.2, DB1.2.3, DB4.2 and DB5.2 strain showed a high identity of 97 to 99% with the 16S rRNA sequence from Photobacterium sp., Oceanisphaera sp., Shigella sp., Stenotrophomonas sp, respectively.

Isolation of ASR7 Actinomycete Isolated from S12 Demospongia Marine Sponge and Study of Its Antibacterial Activity
Background and Aims: Marine Actinomycetes are gram-positive bacteria that sometimes are free, saprophytic or plant and animal-associated, including marine sponges. More than 75% of antibiotics and antimicrobial compounds are produced by actinomycetes. In recent years, due to the need for new drugs, marine microorganisms have been considered as new sources of potential production of significant ...
متن کاملIsolation, identification and characterization of new luminous bacteria from Chah Bahar Port, southern marine habitat of Iran
Coastal region of Chah Bahar port, Sea of Oman, was screened for the presence of bioluminescence bacteria for the first time. Water samples were taken from surface and subsurface layers and immediately spread on nutrient seawater complete (SWC) agar. Luminous colonies were observed after an overnight incubation at 25°C. Among twenty luminous isolates, four of them were selected for preliminary ...

متن کاملIsolation and characterization of phenol degrading bacteria from Persian Gulf
Phenol and phenol compounds are environmental pollutants present in industrial wastewaters such as, coal tar, oil refineries and petrochemical plants exist. Phenol removal from industrial effluent is extremely important in protection of environment. Recently phenol biodegradation has been considered. Marine bacteria are the most important phenol biodegrader. In this study, the phenol-degrading ...
